  This was a mandatory stop once or twice a trip every visit to Vegas from New Hampshire. When I checked my trip notes from my summer trip, I noted I was in there at 1AM on June 30th. I played darts against the bartender, John. He encouraged me to return later in my trip to play again, so it doesn't seem like the employees knew. I had the Stilton burger...YUM! This is VERY sad news to me. Probably played the last game of darts there in pub history. If anyone played after that let me know!

  Lots of great times with good friends Crown and Anchor was my favorite place to hang and have a Harp with “The Full Monte” for breakfast 24/7 for the last 15-20 years. Loved playing darts , video poker and hanging with friends … end of an era ..

  I love or loved The Crown & Anchor in Las Vegas; the real British Pub & Restaurant. Welcoming 24-7 patrons from all over the world, many of them returning there straight for the good times, excellent beer on tap & curated brands, traditional British food, friendly people & always a great place to be. Very unique, I ate the Queen’s Quiche on the British celebration day, it was the one. I loved the telephone both and the cut outs of British top celebrities. I always had a great time there and can’t believe it’s gone. The one at the other location hasn’t the same vibe and ambience. Please don’t go away!!

  I so enjoyed having lunch and dinner at both Crown and Anchor Pubs. I had a radio show at one of the stations across the street on E. Tropicana Ave. After the show, the Fish and Chips with peas and a Guiness was a great way to end the day. Later, moving to the western part of the valley, I found the same good food and vibe in the small Crown and Anchor Pub in Chinatown on West Spring Mountain Road. Many British Subjects would celebrate early New Years on the Crown and Anchor Pub patio, since New Years in Britain took place during the afternoon of December 31 in our time zone.

  They had a great lunch time video poker promotion back in the day. Put in $20 and play it through once and you got a free lunch.

  I just drove past this morning and was surprised to see plywood on the front. I thought I would check to see if they has some sort of fire - but when I got home, this article came across my FB feed. So sad to see it closed, especially when I saw it the day after.

  I still can't believe the news. Have been going there since it's opening. It was a 'go to' place to meet people from around the Commonwealth. Oh and the beer In the beginning it was one of very few places to serve Guinness (due to the nitrous oxide rather than CO2) and you couldn't find a larger selection of international drafts in Vegas. I've met a lot of great people at the Crown. Fair Winds and Following Seas.

  I spent a lot of money here over the last several years... Real shame to see it gone now. Loved the stilton cheeseburger and the steak and kidney pie.

  I’m so sad! Loved going there. A place you could eat outside and bring your dog. The atmosphere made me feel like I was in England. It’s where I took my daughter (during Covid) when she turned 21 to have a drink and gamble, then had her party when she graduated Law School. They had great Fish & Chips, we loved going for the Sunday Roast. It was a great gathering place!! We will miss it dearly!! 🥺😢

  A huge shame. The LVA had a coupon for free food. The video poker wasn't "great", but it was a reasonably economical way to pass the time. Yet another "value" place bites the dust in Las Vegas. Hopefully, something nice replaces it.

  hat's too bad, I've always enjoyed it, although I haven't been there for maybe 10y or so. ObTrivia: The tune Mr Brightside by The Killers (you know the tune, you may not recognize the name) is based on a true story where their frontman was tipped off and caught his (I assume now long-ex) GF on a date with someone else at the Crown And Anchor.

  Ri Ra was always the Best Fish and Chips in Vegas. The Smashed Pig, downtown Vegas came close - but it alas closed. Anchor stayed open for 30 years so British food could not have been that bad. 30 years in vegas is a lifetime for restaurants.

  No wonder in this economy you see restaurants close every week. Supply prices are so high, by the time you calculate even a small percentage of profit, the menu prices end up being sticker shock. Lots of life savings go into opening these places and even if the food is great, America is in the bargain hunting mode thanks to our president and inflation. look at all the fast food chains scrambling to survive with value meals. politicians and corporate greed are going to run rampant until the entire system collapses and you can't afford a loaf of bread or rent. America is in serious trouble and the worse is yet to come.

  every president does things that help and hurt the economy. but no president is a dictator, even if one former president wants to be one and has worked hard to pave the way. but politics aside, when you blame the president, as if he's pushing a button, it's hard to take your comments serious. yes, prices are up everywhere, this is not a new phenomenon. and yes, our economy has shifted since a pandemic that began under the former president. yes, fast food places are trying to maintain fat profits as costs rise. ever notice how much people are spending for tickets to see U2 at the Sphere? plenty of people are spending plenty of money all over the place. i see new restaurants opening as others close down. why would you open a restaurant in an economy that's so bad that you can't make a profit? of, yeah, because blaming everything on the president and politics is the lazy way to gripe about the fact that our economy is far more complex, and not immune to inflation, with or without a pandemic.

  Policies like energy, trade, infrastructure and immigration are directly connected the president. When he(president) and his party make a poor decision, that will certainly reverberate throughout the economy. One simple example is allowing millions of immigrants to pour over the border virtually unchecked. I see that as nothing less than criminal. who should be held accountable for the massive strain that puts on our welfare/economy/tax system?. Just FYI, my tax dollars. Look around, rent and food prices are soaring, yet we're giving 100's of billions to foreign aid. Sorry for them but, America should come first. So you tell all these restaurant owners that losing their life savings just trying to make a buck the economy is strong and they shouldn't hold our own government responsible. Good luck with that pal. PS. I choose not to be a sheep.

  The "Wanker" (as my co-workers & I dubbed it) has been a touchstone for all of my time in Vegas. I've seen a lot of bars and restaurants come and go, every once in while it's one that matters on a personal level. Farewell.
