I dealt craps in AC for 5 years. New dice corners can draw blood if they hit you, they are that sharp. The dealers shall always know the serial number as dice often fly off the table. Around 2012 at the california hotel i withness a unexplainabe event a shooter threw the dice its was a high arc the dices hit the table did not roll did not side just stopped right where they landed. my freind was with me and i verified what i just saw. two nights later in the same casino different shooter i saw the same thing but only one dice did the no roll just stop.

Hey, Johnny from Jersey here. 22 – year veteran of 3 casinos in Atlantic City. Great article. Other procedures you may know….Under the felt on the craps table are ” speed bump ” – type ridges, again to insure a random roll, and discourage the cheating practice of ” sliding ” one die , while throwing the other. The measurements of the dice are checked with a micrometer before they go to the game, and each die is held by the corners and spun, to insure one side is not overly weighted. The boxes of dice are stored in a secure room with cameras, and are printed with the serial numbers inside them. They are inventoried at least once a day by casino management. The shipment of dice from arrival to storage is followed by security, and watched on camera. Thanx

Regarding #8 —

That’s B.S. I have never seen a casino do that during a roll. In fact to do so would call the casino’s integrity into question. It would be technically within their rights to do, it would be terrible for the casino’s reputation, particularly if the shooter sevened out right after the dice were changed.

The house knows that hot rolls are an inevitable result of the huge number of trials.

Any casino that would actually do such a thing is a place to avoid ever playing at.
