Ha ha I gotta laugh at some of the posts. Posters give way too much credit for CEO’s to make a smart decision and actually do something great that would make tourists want to visit. The operating casino playbook now is cut every corner (employees) and rent all available space to any sucker with a bankroll. Building a cool image or theme and thinking outside the box has long disappeared in Vegas. There is no long term thinking or anything that involves spending money, only taking tourist money. look around, is there a casino with a awesome buffet, great free room comps, fast drink service, decently priced sit down restaurants, free entertainment or even free parking?. the short answer is hell no cause if there was one, even I would go. Vegas may still attract tourists cause of the blinking lights, nightclubs and of course legalized gambling, but those tourists are clueless about what was once the greatest city in the world and what they could(should) experience. Ho hum, I expect another sad and soon to close restaurant to open in place of Frogs. sure feel sorry for all the workers.

So there’s no danger of me going to a restaurant in Vegas that I have never been to. Or nightclub, or drag cabaret, or whatever it was supposed to be. Call it Senor Ramsay’s and the place would rake in the cash. It’s true.

Lease the bottom floor out to either CVS or Walgreens – after all, if you have to walk more than 100 feet to either one, that’s just way too far. And go retro on the second floor with a strip-view buffet. The Food Halls, Food Courts, Food Arenas, and whatnot are already passe. While a buffet is, at best, a break-even proposition, it would generate levels of foot-traffic greater than the TI ever experienced previously, with more than a few of those feet dropping a few bucks in the slot machines while they’re there.

I also hope the Drag Show finds a new home. A perfect fit might be at the Rio. The decor is already a bit over the top (similar to your average drag queen – and I mean that in the best possible way), and one positive aspect of LGBT stereotyping is that they’ve traditionally been the first to invest in run-down communities, which they transform into the hot new areas that everyone wants to be a part of. That’s not to suggest that The Rio is run-down; Dreamscape is doing a fantastic job in bringing some glory back to The Rio; but having the Masquerade Tower be the new home of the Drag Brunch would be the cherry on the top of that Sundae!!
