The casinos need to clean their air with cigarette smoke do u think it’s right for other customers with kids and who don’t smoke that it’s right for others who don’t smoke and smoke in front of their faces and blow the smoke on them riverside casino in Laughlin nevada is very very bad nothing that is airing out that cigarette smoke it’s not healthy for other people who also want to enjoy themselves

Recently went back to work ,I have dealt poker for over 20 yrs. The last casino was just poker no slot machines. I got a job in Nevada casino that has a no smoking poker room but there is no enclosure so all the second hand smoke just permeates the poker room. On my second week working the casino was extra busy due to a promotion and I started getting burning itchy eyes. Next day I am sick with sore scratchy throat and no voice. Do I have any recourse?

Its simple: ban smoking in casinos. Tobacco smoke poisons those who do it and those around them whether they choose to get poisoned or not. Casinos could do what some airports do: have a completely enclosed smoking section for the addicts who can’t go without, if they feel they must continue to pander to them. And for those whose excuse is “personal freedom,” I believe my right not to get poisoned by selfish thoughtless strangers should supercede their personal freedom to poison me.

I don’t smoke generally, but I do like to have a cigar or two when I visit Vegas. It’s part of the ambiance and relaxation for me. But would I still go if it was banned everywhere? Yes. Would I go to the places that allowed smoking if I had the option against those that didn’t? Also yes. I haven’t been to Park since it didn’t allow smoking, even though I make dozens of trips to the different resorts during my trip where I don’t have a cigar. So I agree it would have to be an all or nothing to not impact business.

Foxwoods and Mohegan casinos in Connecticut banned smoking during the pandemic and then, as people were still gambling regardless, never allowed it again. The casinos are as busy as they ever were and the properties are so much cleaner because of it. It has to save them money. No burn marks on the carpets or furniture. No ashtrays overflowing. No nicotine to clean off of screens, ceilings, walls, etc.

Luckily, smoking is way down and only occasionally does someone sit next to me that smokes. I remember a few years ago, going to my room, and smelling like an ashtray but thats rare now for me. I am a former 20 year smoker who quit 25 years ago and I think smoking should be banned indoors. I would adapt if I still smoked like most smokers have with other restrictions.

I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life, and even I am against banning it altogether. Between the top notch circulation in these casinos, and the decline in smoking in general, I just don’t see it as much of an issue. I do get the occasional chain smoker seated next to me at the table, but I either deal with it, or I move. It’s not a big deal to me.

Las Vegas might be the last place in the United States that allows for adults to do adult things without shame, embarrassment, finger-wagging, or any manufactured moral panic. I don’t smoke, and never have, but I am more than capable of moving to another bar stool, gaming table, or video poker machine if someone’s smoke bothers me. As for employees, I look at it the same way I do those who move to Las Vegas without realizing what they are getting into, and then complaining about the city and trying to change it once they are here. Tobacco is legal, casinos have the right to set their own rules, and if and when non-smoking casinos become more popular, I imagine others will follow. Until then, Park Las Vegas.
