A walk-through thrill attraction based upon the popular “Fear the Walking Dead” series has closed permanently at Fremont Street Experience.

Fear the Walking Dead Survival was located near the foot of the SlotZilla zipline tower.

Fear the Walking Dead Survival was fairly well-received (reviews varied dramatically), but the licensing agreement with AMC, the network behind “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead” made the cost of running the attraction prohibitive.

Fear the Walking Dead Survival opened to much fanfare in August 2017.

Several stars from the “Fear the Walking Dead” series made an appearance at the grand opening, including Kim Dickens, Colman Domingo and Michael Greyeyes.

The attraction, a collaboration between Fremont Street Experience, AMC and attraction company Triotech, went through a number of refinements based upon customer feedback.

With a walk-through haunted house vibe, the focal point of Fear the Walking Dead Survival was an interactive motion ride.

Update (9/14/20): For a time, the Fear the Walking Dead Survival attraction space had a sign for a new business, Trick Eye Museum, but the sign has since been removed. Trick Eye is described as a “VR (virtual reality) museum.

Per the , the attraction features a “traditional art technique, ‘Trompe-l’oeil’ (French for “deceive the eye”), which turns two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional images through the use of optical illusions.”

Trick Eye is broken into “zones,” including a VR Zone, Aqua, Masterpiece and Jungle. There’s no word on when Trick Eye may open at Fremont Street Experience.
