The game at PH had around 14 terminals in a U shape around the table and Paris had about 10. The nice thing about the game at PH is that all of the other terminals in the stadium game section could also play on the live table game, the only drawback is those terminals not around the table were not in the rotation to shoot. We had multiple hot shooters and the energy was high with the cheering and clapping found at a traditional table. The game attracted a younger crowd with most players looking to be under 30. I think this is a good happy medium between the traditional tables and the single player terminals that have become more popular over the last few years. The single player terminals are great to learn on since you can play at your own pace, I felt rushed to make bets at the hybrid game since you have less than 20 seconds to make bets after the roll is confirmed. If you don’t know the rules of the game or have your betting strategy mapped out the hybrid game you may run out of time to get your bets in. All in all, I really enjoyed this version of the game and would prefer to play this version over and traditional table and single terminals!

There is a Roll to Win table currently at Fallsview casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario. It’s been there for a while. There is a new Hybrid Stadium Craps table coming to that casino in the next few months.

Hi Martin,

I’m curious, did the tables you deal on at Four Queens look like the one in my garage? One of my most prized possessions! Love thinking about the history of it, who may have played on it, how old it is. I bet you have some great craps stories!

Cheers,
Jason

Hi Martin, I have no doubt that you provided your craps players with 37 years of friendly and excellent service, however, you are – sadly – the exception. I’ve been visiting casinos for over 40 years and have yet to experience a craps table that wasn’t staffed by arrogant a**hole dealers. It’s the classic “chicken or the egg” scenario. The craps dealers will only interact with, respect, and respond to experienced players, but are derisive and intolerant towards new or novice players. How can you become an experienced player if the dealers don’t even want you at their table in the first place? Craps is probably the most intimidating game in the casino (especially for beginners), and having dismissive dealers adds to the intimidation factor. Until casinos start designating one craps, blackjack, and roulette table as “beginners welcome” tables, the trend towards dealer-less automated tables will continue. Players that don’t want to deal with a slower-pace game and a bunch of player questions, can play at other tables. Not holding my breath that that’ll happen. Have you considered supplementing your retirement income by offering craps lessons on an hourly basis?

I dealt craps for 37 years, 22 of them at the Four Queens downtown. There will never be a machine like this thing that can replace the fun and excitement of a real craps game manned by proficient, experienced and friendly dealers. The historic legacy craps table is where the real Las Vegas fun occurs. Greedy casino owners are trying to do away with the expertise and camaraderie of experienced craps crews on live tables. I spent a lot of time helping new players learn the game and helping experienced players enhance and maximize their results through various pressing moves. I doubt seriously if any Hawaiian players will play this game. They are the best players of all in my opinion and they love the live action of a busy craps table. There is nothing like playing with a great crew of experienced dealers on a full scale live craps game. When you hear the yelling, you know the dice are hot! I spent most of my life on these large beautiful tables and I still miss it even well into my retirement years. No machine will ever take the place of friendly, knowledgeable dice dealers and a live hot craps table manned by a fantastic crew. That is the real Las Vegas experience!

We love them but it’s a long flight from Miami so we don’t get to enjoy them as often as we would like. Google didn’t turn up any info. HELP.

You can tip on the Roll to Win tables. There is a spot in the upper right hand part of the screen. You can’t tip on the Stadium Craps Hybrid version though.

Toward the end of our gambling session, the casino’s Hybrid Craps tables opened. I asked the dealer what the odds were.

“True odds,” she replied.

I tried to elaborate, “Is it 3x-4x-5x odds? Double odds?”

“The odds are fair,” she replied.

“No,” I testily replied. “Some casinos like South Point have double odds. Some casinos like the Cannery have 10x odds.”

“Double odds,” the dealer finally replied.

For now, I’ll stick with the tables at the Cannery and Ellis Island as well as the Bubble Craps machines at Casino Royale and El Cortez (both of which offer 5x odds last time I checked).

My wife and I played at the Roll to Win at Paris a while back and our average bets were $250+ and after about an hour, we realized we had earned like 10 tier credits. I don’t understand why they don’t have similar structures for earning rewards as any other digital game or video poker/BJ, but you would think coin in would still matter. Stadium games don’t reward at the same coin in rates for whatever reason. Any idea as to why? I went back in December and the only open table we could find as we walked through Caesars properties was Roll to Win at Linq. Me and my buddy sat down and played for a few hours and had a blast. Again, no tier credits awarded and the biggest complaint I had was no tipping. It wasn’t as big of a deal for the dealer unfortunately, but I had to run to the cage to get change so we could tip the cocktail waitress. With no chips in hand, drink tipping became an issue. I loved how it counts how many rolls you have, who is a hot shooter, etc. I assume all the above are similar on the hybrid craps. Hope to try it out soon! If there is an open table next to it, I’d choose the “real” version every single time though.
