Brewdog is a great place for a craft beer enthusiast like myself. Unlike San Diego, most people on the strip will rather pay for overpriced Coors light instead.

However, none of you hit the nail on the head as to the main, very specific cause of the outrageous pricing (mostly undeserved, with a few exceptions) and nickel and diming going on. The real cause of all this can be distilled down to one thing: The Banksters. More specifically, the massive debt owed by most of the gaming conglomerates due to highly-leveraged acquisitions and mergers and then the rent on land and buildings that used to be debt-free or almost debt-free because they had to sell off their land and buildings to attempt to whittle down the debt caused by said highly-leveraged acquisitions and mergers. To top it off, in addition to having massive debt and interest payments and massive rent payments, they also have to attempt to generate enough of a profit to keep Wall Street happy. THAT is the root cause of what is going on. I’d love to see the day when Jshareholders are held responsible for the debt of any company that files bankruptcy. If that happened these problems would cease immediately.

Wouldn’t surprise me a little if they go belly up, charging the prices they do it should be on par with Wynn/Encore- service is horrible, employees seem unhappy. But the top management pays themselves like they are running a great company

I played slots for two days the last trip and could feel how tight they were plus I never saw a single jackpot winner the whole trip. I will never stay at another strip casino again and from what I can read, I’m not alone. I can spend it locally and get much better service. and friendly too. 🙂

I guess because they are willing to give you 90% of the ticket sales which is an insane amount considering you spent 2.3 billion on your state of the art venue. unless they make it really easy for a band to play there, I just don’t see acts lining up to fill the seats and you better have one hell of a movie if you plan on selling enough $50 seats to pay off that $2.3B price tag. Thinking this concept was conceived by Dr. Emmet Brown who wanted to call it “the flux Sphere”.

The roo.s are gorgeous, but everything is extra. They have s mini-fridge in the room. They have sensors on everything in the fridge and the mini bar. If you move anything they charge you for it. You can’t put anything in the fridge. If you want to keep anything cold, they charge $35 a day for a mini-fridge that you can use. A little container of M&MS or white chocolate pretzels, or chocolate covered almonds is $10. A small Smartwater is $5. They comped our room (the only reason we stayed there) but charged over $40 day for resort fees for things like a pool that closes at 6pm. They won’t comp the fees unless you have a 3rd level card or higher. A level 2 card requires you to gamble over $50,000 in a year and a level 3 is over $100,000. Friday night we had to wait over 45 minutes for a Valet to give us a ticket to get our car back later. They won’t let you take a cart to take your luggage to or from your room. Only their staff can use the carts, and of course you have to tip them all. I’m going back next month. I’ll be staying at the Silverton where they are just finishing a complete remodel of all of their rooms. They are comping the room and the resort fee. That’s the way to treat a customer.

At this time only the band U2 has been signed, and they were given 90% of the concert revenue. Other performers that are being sought are the Eagles, Madonna, Taylor Swift and Elton John. The problem is that to perform in the Sphere requires a unique and very elaborate sound, light and imagery production that takes weeks/months to choreograph. And that production can’t be used in any other arena anywhere, so performers are reluctant to spend the time & money developing a show just for the Sphere.

There’s plenty to choose from but, most are just to expensive. Not sure how a reasonable person can spend thousands for U2 or F1 seats and the Circ shows have been around for years. I’ve been disappointed so many times in shows that now I’m gun shy about spending a lot for tickets, especially comedy stuff. Couple in crazy prices for a room and very expensive food, I think it’s time to say goodbye to Vegas. maybe the casinos will come to their senses and start making at least the amenities reasonably priced. after all, most of the time your taking my gambling money, is that not enough?
