Truly this is not the case. Rio has free parking and with the new upgrade, people will want to be there. Rio is not that far from the Las Vegas strip. It used to be a super popular place–and it is on the way to being that again. This will clearly not be a one-time stay for folks, Mike.

I’ve said this before and it is a simple thing, unless they provide a free shuttle or some sort of transportation to the strip, I believe this will be a one time stay for folks….it is just far enough a way to be a PITA the walk it, and a constant expense to taxi or uber in a town that is already nickel and diming you constantly.

Hyatt’s core business are hotels. One can trust that the rooms will be really clean. As for the casino aspect of the business, some one else will run it like the relationship that Resorts World has with that Chinese outfit.. one can assume, probably. As long as they put that Cha Cha back into the Rio I’m in.

So close, lets hope they make a few more smart moves and stick it to those hosh posh, pirate strip casinos. Locals, that’s really the key. If locals don’t like you, they certainly won’t recommend you and that’s the unseen part casinos don’t get. locals are connected in so many ways. friends, family, social media and even working at the property. if the casino treats you poorly, you’re not likely to recommend people stay there and if your an employee, you won’t treat tourist nice if you’re not being treated nice. Funny how a handful of special perks and a plastic card just for locals could swing the tide. Be smart RIO, we’re on your side for now.

I still think it was a huge mistake not bringing back a buffet. They need something to draw people over from the strip. A food court and an ice cream sundae cart wont do it. A great buffet would. I think they will do better than Caesars did withe property (impossible to do worse) but fall well short of living up to their full potential.
