Wrong. The “basket” bet pays 5:1, so if you bet $5 on it and win, you’ll have $35 ($30 in winnings plus your original $5 bet), whereas if you bet $1 on each of 0, 0, 1, 2, 3 and hit one of them, you’ll have $32 ($35 in winnings plus your original $1 bet MINUS the $4 worth of wagers you lost).

A “basket bet” is a 3 number bet that can be either 0,00,2 or 0,1,2 or 00,2,3.

In 20 years dealing roulette I never heard to term “avenue bet”. It is simply a “double street” bet or sometimes called “6 line bet”.
