I got walked out of the property by security at Circa last year for just carrying a DSLR. I was told “No cameras, they should have stopped you at the doors.” “Everybody has a camera” I tell him. Looks at me like he has no clue what I’m talking about. I was working a corporate event at the pool and was on my way out anyway. Not even my first incident with these idiots.

Why wouldn’t a person simply put their cell phone in their shirt pocket and let the video camera run? I plan on doing just that when I go to Caesars on June 17, 2023.

When I was in France I took a picture of my slot screen, and security promptly rushed over and made me delete the pictures.

I took pictures of every single Strip buffet in Vegas ten years ago for an article I never wrote, and never had any hassles.

Forcing people to not take pictures is impossible today. I love when I have my SLR, packed away in my backpack, and am told that cameras aren’t allowed when visiting some locations. My immediate reply is “well it’s not posted anywhere” which usually gets some stupid response that it’s policy. My next words are always “well you didn’t stop them from bringing in their camera” and point to the people in front of me (or nearby). This always gets a puzzled look, and then “they don’t have a camera”. My response “then what is that in their hand (or on their waist)” and point out their smartphone. Usually, they are dumbfounded and let me through making comment about “professional photography” and SLR’s aren’t allowed.

I have never had a problem taking pictures in the casinos in Vegas but have had the security watch and then double check that we deleted one here in Vancouver.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been told no pictures. I don’t do at the tables, but all over the casino and bar areas. Also, I think regularly featuring Valeria will help drive plenty of eyeballs to your blog. She’s probably the most popular bartender at the Gate and even sweeter than she is beautiful.

The casinos have for the most part given up on the no photos policy from what i have seen. Too hard to enforce now with cell phones.
